The issue only occurs between 1,000 and maybe 1,150 because by the time the RPMs get to 1,200 the shudder is gone and the car is back to its glorious acceleration. It very much feels like gears and not just engine shake like if the mounts were bad. It's almost like there is some weird slippage right at this 1,000 RPM mark.
