WebNov 21, 1980 · American Noise, in its present form, is about a year and a half old. Originally called 747, the band was founded by brothers Craig and Bruce Balzer. The brothers played together in various Cleveland bar bands for 14 years before they decided the only way to reach fame was to play ori- Webkept in touch socially. Craig, Bruce, and Bill formed the band Ambleside with Mike Amato on drums. After they broke up, Bill Petti Craig and Bruce joined Circus, and after that, formed their own band, 747. 747 became American Noise who had a lot of success in the area, and released a nationally distributed LP.
